I know, many of you are SHOCKED and in AWE of the fact that we are moving to Boulder, CO this year. Many of the questions and concerns from our friends are because they,"Just don't see us there". Gosh, why would anyone feel that way?? One of the neighborhoods we like is called "Mapleton Hill". It is close to town, Dave could walk to work, and I would be in the center of the city to get involved. Last week, a killing occurred in this neighborhood. Desperation filled the hearts of those in the area. What did they do you may ask? Why, they had a candlelight vigil for an ELK! Yes, that's right, the murder was of a bull elk that had been aggressive toward people and was apparently injured. 2 police officers (now on administrative leave) shot the animal and tried to cover it up by not reporting it. BIG TROUBLE IN BOULDER!! This is NEWS people! I am dying a little inside thinking about our hunting friends in Oklahoma. This would not be an issue in 90% of the country. Almost 200 people took part in the candle lighting honoring and remembering the elk. I just hope these same 200 people would stand in the cold if something of real importance, say an assault or worse happened in the area. I am sure this was a beautiful animal that many enjoyed watching from their interior windows. I personally would not want to come face to face with an injured bull elk. God bless Boulder and these people. God willing, there won't be any more killings in the neighborhood! I am on my way to the mall to stock up on hemp clothing. Hey, I have to try to blend!
