Like it or NOT, the election is over, the ads are through, and it's time to get back to some Honey Boo-Boo.
Before this whole surgery thing, I don't think I had ever turned on the TV in the den. That's right, you guessed it, the main television in the biggest room in the house had never been started by you know who. I just don't get it, but most women don't! Men like loud and surround, and the more speakers the better. Women want to watch their shows. I am pretty sure we even have something buried in the carpet that makes the room shake during loud parts of movies. Seriously? Let's not even compare my TJ MAXX shopping to the amount of money put into electronics in this house. My theory is this: the more you have, the more can break! I think this theory takes about 48 years to realize. Our parents have always known that. Most of them don't have the top of the line systems in their house and don't even understand the current bills from the cable companies. Speaking of cable companies: RIP OFF!! I opened a bill last week from Century Link and it was $30 more than the previous month's bill. After spending 20 minutes on hold, being transferred twice (when I threatened to go back to Comcast) they explained to me that my "coupon codes had expired". They took off the $30 but told me that since I month had not gone by, I would need to "call back" to re-do the codes in a few weeks. Sure enough, in came another bill for the higher price. I will now spend another 45 minutes on the phone to permanently change the codes again. Do these people think we don't have lives?? Of course…they know how busy we are and that is why our bills change. Most are on "automatic pay" and they don't even realize their bill has gone up by $360/year. Consumer Alert!
Back to me: I HAVE learned how to use the single cable clicker…there IS HOPE! Of course I have to give up on my dream of surround sound HGTV and the fine art of watching a movie using the DVD player. I am just wondering if I am alone! Are there other lost souls when it comes to clickers??
Make it a great week!
